Beautiful hiking tours through the terraced vineyards of this red wine paradise not only offer amazing views, but you will also discover plenty about one of the most famous German red wine regions. The route through the „paradise of red grapes“ also offers an opportunity to find out information about the local area. The picturesque hiking trail runs from Altenahr to Bad Bodendorf, it is 35000 meters long and links the winemaking villages situated above the romantic Ahr valley.
All winemaking villages are directly connected to the hiking trail that was opened in 1972. Whenever you would like to enjoy a glass of wine or have a little break, you can easily reach the village of your choice by walking down the relative descent. Many cosy wine restaurants, great vintner’s taverns and famous winegrowers’ cooperatives are waiting to welcome hikers and wine lovers.
And for those who like hiking directly along the Ahr riverbank, there is a footpath on the opposite side, which runs through the unspoiled natural environment.
